The type of scanning frame required depends on the application as follows:
Single-sided or S-Frame scanners:
These are used with gauges that measure one side of the moving web such as NIR, X-Ray, Gamma Backscatter and Optical Thickness gauges. These are also used to measure the product where there are space limitations in the process.
Transmission or O-Frame scanners:
These are used with gauges that measure through the product such as NIR, X-Ray, Beta and Laser Thickness.
