Chemical Fertilizer Moisture Measurement

Chemical fertilizer moisture measurement is essential as the moisture content of chemical fertilizers is a key component, influencing the nitrogen release and other properties.

Our experience in the fertilizer industry is based on extensive applications development of chemical fertilizer moisture measurement for a wide range of products including:

The moisture range is typically 1-10%, except in the case of prills, which have a maximum moisture content of 0.5%. For the higher moisture ranges, the instrument is calibrated to a gravimetric oven test; for lower moisture, Karl Fischer is used. Discreet calibrations are required for each product type.

In many cases, products are transported on conveyors providing convenient measurement access for the non-contacting CM710e On-Line Industrial Moisture Gauge

For products transported in gravity-fed ducting and transport systems, CM710e is used in conjunction with a PowderVision In-Process Sampling System to grab measure and return product samples. For aggressive environments a range of ruggedized housings options is available from IP65 up to ATEX certified.

There can also be a requirement for taking samples routinely from the process and analyzing these at-line or in the laboratory.
