Sugar Moisture Measurement

Sugar processing is extremely sensitive to product moisture content. If the final product moisture is too high, this can give rise to problems such as bridging in the storage silos, as well as processing, packing and shelf-life issues.

Sugar processing is characterized by its high volumes. Testing small samples taken from the line in the laboratory may not give a representative picture of the process moisture trends.

The MM710e On-Line Moisture Gauge from NDC is accurate to laboratory standards with the added benefit of making a continuous sugar moisture measurement over the flow of sugar at critical locations during processing, both at intermediate and final moisture levels.

The range of available outputs, analogue or digital, means that our MM710e can also be incorporated into automated control strategies.
